Louise LaLande, President
Louise LaLande is a Senior Architect, Building Specialist and project director with LaLande + Doyle Architects Inc. She has undertaken numerous public and private sector projects and her professional experience includes new construction, reconstruction, and intensive and historical renovation.
Louise was the Project Architect for the East Block 1910 Wing Historical Reconstruction, and the implementation of the New Pedestrian Tunnel between Centre Block and East Block, on Parliament Hill, Ottawa. She was recently involved in the historical renovation of l'Edifice Honore Mercier for the Government of Quebec and has extensive experience working with governing bodies such as Public Works and Government Services Canada, the National Capital Commission, the Federal Heritage Building Review Office, and National Defence. Louise is involved extensively in all phases of project delivery, from preliminary design and detailing, with continuous client liaison, milestone committee presentations, tender document preparation, coordination and award, through to project commissioning.

Helen Edwards, Past President
Helen Edwards is an Historian and principal of Edwards Heritage Consulting. Her work includes historical research for conservation and restoration planning, location of historic photographs and plans, architectural history, and writing on historical and current preservation concerns. Helen is the author of several articles on architectural history and heritage preservation, and a public speaker on preservation and history.
Thor Dingman,Treasurer
Thor Dingman is an architect with 15 years of professional experience as a building specialist in heritage conservation, restoration and adaptive re-use of institutional and residential buildings located in south-western Ontario. Thor has experience with copper, slate and cedar roofs, brick, stone and terra cotta masonry, timber frame and log structures. Services offered include condition reports, measured drawings, strategic project planning, accommodation review and programming, technical audits, life safety analysis, design, tendering and CCDC contract administration. Thor is an Ontario Registered Designer with Ontario Building Code qualifications in the following categories; large building, small buildings, structural, life safety, building services and plumbing. Thor's area of interest is in the vernacular architecture of Ontario. Projects include the following Ontario part V or IV designated buildings; Fryfogel's Tavern (Provincial Historic Site), Idlington Block, Gordon House (Bayfield), Jenny Forbes Cottage (Stratford), R.T. Orr Cottage (Stratford), Stratford City Hall, Exeter Town Hall, Perth County Court House.
With respect to conservation districts, Thor brings experience as both a municipal heritage committee volunteer and as an architectural professional to provide a well rounded approach to the challenges often encountered in conservation district work. Services include inventory mapping, public process facilitation and conservation district plans. Projects include St. Marys HCD Plan, Stratford Market Square Development.
Chris Borgal, Director
Chris Borgal has been involved with over 1,000 projects throughout North America since 1977. His work includes heritage district planning, over 30 museum projects, historic houses, churches, and institutional buildings. He has also worked on projects related to the Centre and West Blocks of Parliament Hill in Ottawa, the British Columbia Legislature, and the Bonavista Lighthouse in Newfoundland. He has been a partner in the firm of Goldsmith Borgal & Co. Ltd. Architects in Toronto since 2001.
Bruce Ball, Director
Bruce Ball has provided archaeological and historical resource consulting expertise in western Canada for over 10 years. He has extensive experience in research, public archaeology and CRM in Alberta and British Columbia. Areas of expertise include Plains, Plateau and Northwest Coast archaeology, historical research, statistics, GIS, predictive overviews, public archaeology, impact assessment and interpretation, and project management.

Mark Brandt, Director – Chair Federal Government Liaison Committee
Mark is a registered professional Architect, Urbanist and Heritage Consultant. In over 30 years in the profession, Mark has successfully completed more than 450 built projects, reports, assessments and presentations for a broad range of public and private clientele, from Master Plan for redevelopment of a key 43-acre industrial heritage district, to research and design for an historic early 20th century porch, to rehabilitations in the Parliamentary Precinct, including the adaptive reuse for the House of Commons Hall of State and assessment of the SW Tower of the East Block.
Mark is Past President of Historic Ottawa Development Inc. (HODI), assisting conservation of designated heritage buildings in the Nation's Capital. He is also Past Chairman of Ottawa LACAC, and has served as a Director of several other cultural and urban development organizations. MTBA Mark T. Brandt, Architect & Associates has won numerous awards, including the Ontario Heritage Trust Achievement. A LEED Accredited Professional, Brandt's practice explores interconnections between natural and cultural conservation. Mark is helping to advance the National agenda of CAHP as the Chair of the Federal Government Liaison Committee.
Eric Jokinen, Director – Chair Membership Committee
As a Building Specialist Eric has been involved in conservation engineering and building science for historic monuments, buildings and structures. Projects include: Old Don Jail, Toronto; Centre Block, South Facade & West Block Renovations, Ottawa; Governor's Mansion, Old San Juan; Three Historic Bridges, Puerto Rico; and Arlington House, Barbados.
Andy Huctwith, Director – Chair Professional Conduct & Ethics Committee
Andy Huctwith is a Building Specialist and Bridge Specialist with a background in structural analysis. He is an expert in the evaluation of historic buildings, with particular emphasis on stone masonry and the assessment of structural problems. His work includes such projects as Kingston City Hall, more than 20 churches in Eastern Ontario, buildings at Royal Military College, and buildings for PWGSC. As a Bridge Specialist, Andy has designed, evaluated, and supervised the reconstruction of wood, stone, concrete, and steel bridges of modern and historic design. He has significant experience with historic arch bridges constructed of either stone or concrete. In addition, Andy has been involved in the evaluation and maintenance of an historic steel Strauss Trunnion Bascule bridge.
Fernando Pellicer, Director
Fernando Pellicer is an architect with 33 years of professional practice, the last 22 of which have been in the area of historic conservation and building envelope science. He has worked on many classified historic sites such as St Patrick's Basilica (1847), Marché Bonsecours (1851), the Québec Parlement (1879), East Block Parliament Ottawa (1867 wing), George Stephen House (1882)and the Clock Tower (1922)of the Old Port in Montréal. He lectures regularly on matters related to masonry conservation at the Université de Montréal, the Québec Building Envelope Consul and the Institute de Maçonnerie du Québec. He is a partner in the firm of DFS Inc Architecture and Design since 2004.
Stephen Robinson, Director – Chair Public Relations Committee
Stephen holds a Heritage Planning Certificate from the University of Waterloo and specializes in the preparation of architectural heritage impact assessments. As Heritage Researcher, Stephen worked on the City of Brantford's Heritage Inventory, which received the 2005 CAHP Communications Award. His firm, Robinson Heritage Consulting, has produced interactive historical maps on CD, an inventory of significant bridges for the Grand River Conservation Authority, a web tour on John McCrae for the Guelph Civic Museum and the McCord Museum and an interactive history CD for Wilfrid Laurier University.

Octavio Salcedo, Director
Octavio Salcedo is a conservator specializing in architectural woodwork. After nearly twenty-five years as a finishing carpenter, his extensive work experience includes the restoration and reproduction of deteriorated wood elements such as windows, doors, paneling, etc. He uses traditional methods, materials and applications for wood finishes. Major restoration and conservation works are: interior woodwork at the Maison Forget, restoration of the William Osler Library (McGill University), windows at the St. George's Anglican church, wood paneling at edifice Ernest Cormier (Palais de Justice), restoration of the Cormier furniture at the Court d'appel de Montréal, windows and doors at the Maison Grove and several other heritage buildings in Montreal. Octavio has recently been involved as consultant for the restoration of windows on the West Block in Parliament Hill. He was awarded the Prix de l'artisan, by the city for its Montréal Architectural Heritage Campaign.
Lisa Seip, Director
Lisa Seip has worked as a professional consulting archaeologist with municipalities, government agencies, developers and First Nations in the management of archaeological and heritage resources since 1994. Her area of expertise is historic and prehistoric archaeology, including archaeological inventory, impact, and overview assessments; evaluation and management of heritage resources. While the majority of her experience has been in British Columbia she has also worked in the U.S.A.
Jonathan Yardley, Director - Chair Awards and Recognition Committee
Over thirty years experience in heritage conservation. Services range from building assessment, feasibility studies, to full restoration documentation, construction and supervision. Recent projects: Victoria Normal School (1914), Victoria B.C. - 1999; Butterfield Park (1910), Saanichton, B.C. - 1993; Post Office (1913), Union Bay, B.C. - 1993; Board of Trade Building (1892), Victoria, B.C. - 1992; The Hudson's Bay Bastion (1853), Nanaimo, B.C., 1992.
Responsible for the administration and management of many heritage conservation projects, including Secretary responsible for the assessment of Scheduled Buildings in U.K. (1967), the downtown Victoria Heritage Building Housing Study for the City of Victoria (1992) and the re-use of heritage buildings with the former Hatley Park, Sooke, B.C., and Master Planning for New Royal Roads University (1996).
Jozef Zorko, Director – Chair Communications Committee
A principal architect with DESNOYERS MERCURE & ASSOCIÉS, Jozef Zorko has, since 1985, developed a unique array of expertise in the areas of architectural, functional and technical programming, architectural design and building codes and regulations that allows him, acting as Project Architect, to undertake and direct projects through a well-balanced, highly responsive approach to project definition and execution. This experience coalesces into a high level of expertise in specific issues related to conservation strategies, refurbishment and fit-up work, particularly in the context of heritage buildings. He is continually involved with existing building envelope problems and remedial work projects both for private and institutional clients. Projects include: Library of Parliament; Carrefour l'Industrielle Alliance; Supreme Court of Canada; McGill University Engineering Complex.
